Pavel Yufit, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in trauma treatment. He currently sees patients at Mehling Orthopedics in Hackensack New Jersey, and West Islip, New York. He has been practicing medicine for more than 15 years. Dr. Yufit is also an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at Hakensack Meridian School of Medicine.
Always a stellar student, Dr. Yufit graduated summa cum laude from Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry and molecular biology in 2000. Dr. Yufit later earned his medical doctorate from the prestigious New York University School of Medicine in New York City in 2004.
Dr. Yufit quickly went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at New York Medical College at St. Vincent’s Hospital in the Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens boroughs of New York City. Once he finished his residency, Dr. Yufit was accepted into a competitive orthopedic trauma fellowship program at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky, where he trained under David Seligson, MD.
Heavily involved in orthopedic research, Dr. Yufit participates in hospital-based orthopedic trauma studies to create better-individualized care plans that improve patient outcomes during treatment.
Fluent in Russian and English, Dr. Yufit is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. In addition to his clinic work and groundbreaking research, Dr. Yufit was recently named a 2022 NJ Top Doc.
